Europe\u2019s next generation is taking a stand against populism and nationalism<\/p>\n
New campaign The European Moment joins pro-European demo<\/p>\n
Brand new campaign The European Moment is joining the March for Europe on 25 March 2017 in Berlin. For the very first time, different pro-European groups are coming together to speak up for European unity and take a clear stand against nationalism. The list of organisations taking part keeps on growing and so far includes: the Young European Movement Berlin-Brandenburg (JEB), the Europa-Union Berlin (EUB), March for Europe Berlin, the Association des Etats G\u00e9n\u00e9raux des Etudiants de l\u2019Europe (AEGEE), Stand Up for Europe, as well as European Studies students from the FU Berlin. It\u2019s also a chance for us to support the March for Europe in Rome, which is taking place at the same time as the meeting of European heads of state and government, as well as other similar demos in cities all over Europe.<\/p>\n
The march will start on 25 May 2017 at 12pm at Bebelplatz in Berlin and will finish with a demo in front of the Brandenburg Gate.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s behind The European Moment: In early 2017, young people from all over Germany came together and launched a platform for pro-Europeans. We are open to everyone who recognises the value of a peaceful and united Europe. Now more than ever, we want to stand up passionately for the European project, countering populism and nationalism with a constructive voice that isn\u2019t afraid to speak out about critical issues.<\/p>\n
Together, we\u2019re standing up for a diverse and open-minded Europe:
\n\u2026based on democracy and the rule of law.
\n\u2026where we live side by side, bound by solidarity.
\n\u2026guided by the political principles of sustainability and fairness.
\n\u2026where shared problems are solved by working together.<\/p>\n
Now is the Moment to uphold these values. It\u2019s up to us!<\/p>\n
The 25 March will mark the first of our monthly demos in Berlin.<\/p>\n
